A Move Without
Surprises

Every high-rise move in Santiago follows a structured process designed to address the specific challenges of residential towers before they become problems on moving day.

Building Assessment

Before any logistics are planned, we need to understand the specific building where the move will take place. No two residential towers in Santiago have identical regulations, and the differences matter significantly.

This phase involves reviewing the building's internal regulations — typically available through the administration office — to understand elevator specifications, permitted access hours for cargo, common area protection requirements, documentation needed from moving companies, and any deposit or insurance requirements.

For buildings we've worked in before, much of this information is already on file. For new buildings, we request the relevant documents directly from the administration before the consultation with the client is complete.

Elevator Dimensions

Cabin width, depth, and door clearance determine which items can use the elevator and which require external hoisting.

Access Hours

Most Santiago buildings restrict cargo elevator use to weekday mornings. Weekend and evening access often requires special authorization.

Required Documentation

Some buildings require moving companies to present liability insurance certificates or pay a refundable deposit before the move is authorized.

Pre-Move Coordination

Once we understand the building's requirements, we handle all coordination with the building administration and concierge on your behalf. This typically happens 48 to 72 hours before the move date.

Elevator Reservation

We contact the concierge to reserve the cargo elevator for the required time window. We confirm the reservation in writing and ensure it aligns with the building's available slots and our move schedule.

Parking Reservation

The loading zone or designated parking space for the moving truck is reserved through the administration. In buildings without a dedicated loading zone, we coordinate with the concierge about the most appropriate access point.

Documentation Submission

Any required documents — insurance certificates, company identification, or deposit payments — are submitted to the administration before move day. We handle this directly so there are no surprises at the door.

Contingency Planning

We identify items that cannot use the elevator and plan the hoisting operation in advance: which window or balcony will be used, what equipment is needed, and how long that portion of the move will take.

Moving Day Setup

The team arrives before the reserved elevator window begins. The first task is always protection installation — not furniture movement.

Floor runners are placed along the route from the truck to the elevator and from the elevator to the apartment door. Wall padding is installed at corners and in elevator interiors. The elevator cabin is fully lined before the first item enters.

We document the condition of all common areas with photos before the move begins. This protects both the client and the building administration, and ensures that any pre-existing damage is clearly recorded.

Execution & Handover

With everything in place, the move proceeds according to the planned sequence. Items are moved in an order that maximizes efficiency within the elevator time window, with hoisting operations scheduled to avoid conflicts with elevator use.

Sequenced Loading

Items are loaded and moved in a planned sequence that minimizes the number of elevator trips and ensures large items are handled before smaller ones fill the space.

External Hoisting

Items that cannot use the elevator are hoisted using specialized equipment. This operation is coordinated with the building's concierge and planned to minimize disruption to other residents.

Apartment Placement

Items are placed in the new apartment according to the client's instructions. Furniture assembly or disassembly, if required, is handled by the field crew.

Final Inspection

Once all items are placed, protective materials are removed and common areas are inspected with the concierge present. Any deposit is reclaimed and the building confirms the move is complete.
